Tributes have been pouring in after comedian Patrice O'Neil passed away yesterday (29.11.11).

Despite the comic having openly mocked him on his TV show earlier this year, former 'Two and a Half Men' actor Charlie Sheen was quick to offer his condolences to the family of the 41-year-old star, who died following complications which arose as a result of a stroke he suffered last month.

Writing on his twitter page, Charlie said: "The entertainment world as well as the world at large lost a brilliant man."

With Patrice's mocking of the troubled actor considered one of the highlights of September's 'Comedy Central Roast', Charlie admitted he was "inspired" by the funnyman.

He added: "I was inspired by his nobility, his grace and his epic talent."

Comedienne Sarah Silverman also paid tribute to the Boston-born comedian - who suffered from diabetes - admitting his gags had her laughing until she "cried".

Patrice leaves behind wife Vondecarlo and his stepdaughter Aymilyon.
