Country star Charlie Daniels hosted a star-studded show in Nashville, Tennessee on Monday night (19Nov12) to raise money for a children's charity.

Rodney Atkins, duo Thompson Square and Phil Vassar were among the acts who took part in the gig to benefit Christmas 4 Kids, an organisation which helps needy youngsters and provides them with new coats over the holiday season.

The Devil Went Down to Georgia hitmaker Daniels, who hosts the show annually, admits he feels duty-bound to boost the cause, and hopes the yearly bash raises awareness of the scheme.

He tells Country Weekly, "This is my 11th year. This should not be credited to me as some great humanitarian thing I'm doing. This is my duty to do things like this because you give what you've got and my gift that God gave to me is music and entertainment.

"It's a matter of doing something you know you ought to be doing and helping some people that need some help. And raising awareness, hopefully, that there are people like this in the community and if we can give somebody a helping hand, we should do it."
