A West End stage adaptation of Chariots of Fire is to close early.
The production, based on the 1981 sporting drama movie, opened in London in June (12) to coincide with the 2012 Olympic Games in the city over the summer (12).
Chariots of Fire, which boasts a cast that includes actress Isabella Calthorpe, was due to end its run in February (13), but producers have now announced it will close a month early on Saturday (05Jan13).
A statement from theatre bosses reads, "The cast of Edward Hall's critically acclaimed production of Chariots of Fire will have collectively run over 1,700km when they take their final victory lap of the Gielgud Theatre track on January 5, 2013.
"In the Olympic year we were delighted to have brought such a relevant and poignant production to the West End and plans are afoot to tour the production in 2013/14."
