Hip-hop star Chance the Rapper has put his acting skills to the test by voicing an animated Bob Marley for cult cartoon Black Dynamite.

The 20 year old, real name Chancelor Bennett, was invited to join the creators of the show, which airs on U.S. network Adult Swim, in the studio for a day to lend his vocals to an animated version of the reggae icon, and he admits he had a blast.

Speaking to Rolling Stone last week (27Sep13), he said, "I had to go in the studio yesterday at Soundscape and record from the script and do the reading. I had to play Bob Marley and I planned on doing this research, and I did not. I came unprepared. It's going to be funny watching this episode because I'm going to be able to remember every line I did, each take, and I'm gonna just laugh at each one they pick... I can't wait until the voiceover people that are professionals hear this and laugh at me, like, 'Oh, this guy's such an amateur!'"

The second season of Black Dynamite, which is based on the 2009 blaxploitation comedy film of the same name, is due to air early next year (14).
