Brooklyn-based punk band Cerebral Ballzy announce they have signed to Cult Records. The label's owner, Julian Casablancas, says Cerebral Ballzy are "probably the coolest band in the world at the moment, a truly legit modern hardcore/punk band, and by far my favorite. It's beyond exciting to try and help them in any and all ways we can and we're honored to put their deliriously great new record out on Cult Records." The band's new album, produced by TV on The Radio's Dave Sitek will be out in early 2014, with more details to follow.
Cerebral Ballzy's album is highly anticipated after the band's new track "Better In Leather" premiered as Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record In The World' yesterday on his show on BBC Radio 1.
This is the second time the band have received Hottest Record In The World. The first time was for their track "Be Your Toy," before the band played the Reading/Leeds festival earlier this year. "Better In Leather" and "Be Your Toy" will both be included on Cerebral Ballzy's debut album.
The band are set to headline the NME Radar Tour beginning next week in Cambridge. The tour goes across the UK, including shows in London, Brighton, and ending up in Bristol on November 24.
