When Oscar winner Jared Leto took the stage to introduce Dion, he revealed his band 30 Seconds to Mars decided to play an impromptu show at the Bataclan venue in May (15).

"It was beautiful, peaceful and unforgettable." he said. "What a difference a day makes."

Leto also noted the music executives who were killed in the attack on the Bataclan during an Eagles of Death Metal gig, including Mercury Records international product manager Thomas Ayad, who worked with Justin Bieber, Keith Richards, and Metallica.

Dion then performed popular tune Hymne a l'amour, which was made famous by iconic French singer Edith Piaf, while images of Paris flashed on the screen behind her, bringing tears to the eyes of many in the audience.

More than 130 people died in a wave of violence across the French capital on 13 November (15), when terrorists armed with guns and bombs targeted restaurants and bars, and a packed soccer stadium, as well as the rock gig at the Bataclan.
