Celine Dion Mourned The Death Of Her Brother Daniel At A Visitation In Quebec, Canada On Saturday (23jan16), A Day After Bidding A Final Farewell To Her Husband, Rene Angelil.
The My Heart Will Go On superstar lost both her manager husband, 73, and her 59-year-old sibling to cancer within two days of one another earlier this month (Jan16), and separate services were held in their memory this weekend (22-24Jan16).
Celine and Rene's eldest son, Rene-Charles, supported his grieving mother and twin brothers, Nelson and Eddy, at his father's funeral at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal on Friday (22Jan16), when he delivered a heartfelt eulogy to the thousands who had turned out to pay their respects. The funeral, held at the same venue where the couple wed in 1994, was also broadcast on TV in Canada and streamed live online.
The singer, the youngest of 14 children, then headed to Repentigny, Quebec on Saturday to join her mother and siblings at the Salon Rajotte Charles funeral home, where they sang to honour Daniel Dion, who was also a vocalist.
Celine's three children did not accompany her.
Daniel's funeral is set to take place at Saints-Simon-et-Jude Church in Charlemagne on Monday (25Jan16) and will be laid to rest in the Cote-des-Neiges cemetery in Montreal.
Celine, 47, cancelled her Las Vegas residency shows in the immediate aftermath of her husband's death on 14 January (16) and is not scheduled to return to the Caesars Palace stage until 23 February (16).
