CBS is taking a big gamble by knocking Csi Crime Scene Investigation out of its Thursday-night time period in The Fall and moving in J.J. Abrams's new Person of Interest to take its place. CSI ratings have been dropping steadily in recent years, but Nevertheless remain near the top of the heap. It will move to Wednesday nights. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, CBS scheduling chief Kelly Kahl said, "To be a new show on Thursday at 9 00 p.m. you have to have something pretty extraordinary. ... We think [ Person of Interest ] is a hugely broad-appeal show." Later, CBS chief Les Moonves took time to refute claims voiced during the NBC and Abc Upfronts that it is a network that appeals mostly to older viewers. He noted that CBS beats both those networks in the 18-49 demo.
