Carson Daly has apologised for making a homophobic joke.
The 38-year-old TV and radio host suggested gay people would not have been able to restrain a pilot who had a meltdown on JetBlue flight 191.
Speaking on his Los Angeles radio show, the 'Voice' host said: ''Most of the people were on their way to some sort of security conference in Las Vegas, it was like a bunch of dudes and well trained dudes, thank god.
''With my luck, it would be like, 'this is the flight going to the [gay] pride parade in San Francisco. I mean, that would be my colleagues.''
He then changed his voice and said: ''Uh, we're headed down to Vegas for the floral convention.''
Following the incident, he has taken to his twitter account to ''apologise'' if he offended anyone with his comments.
He wrote: ''This morning on my radio show I attempted to make fun of myself and offended others by mistake. I sincerely apologise.''
He also said in a statement: ''We live in a time where gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals find courage every day to overcome adversity, stand up to bullying and find equality. I'm truly saddened that my words today suggested otherwise.''
