Carrie Underwood refuses to release her own fragrance because it would be ''weird'' smelling the same as other people.

The 29-year-old country singer says that while she wouldn't mind branching out into fashion, perfume is a definite no-go area.

She said: ''I really don't know if I would do the whole fragrance thing, because I don't want to smell like anybody else.

''That one's not quite for me. If people walked up to me smelling like me, it might weird me out.''

However, the former American Idol winner would like to follow in the footsteps of Jessica Simpson and Madonna and try her hand a designing a clothing collection.

She told AOL's ''I would love to do that for other people, too, and create things that people would like to wear.''

When it comes to her own style, Carrie likes to keep it chic and simple.

She added to NFocus magazine:'' My style icons are people like Charlize Theron and Reese Witherspoon. They are beautiful, but in a natural way.

''They look like they take care of themselves but don't do anything too crazy. They always look and act classy. I always just try to choose clothes that I feel good in.

''I really don't focus on what the reviews will be, whether they are rave or not. I just want to feel good about myself.''
