British Tv presenter Carol Vorderman has been left with a broken nose and a badly bruised face after falling down a flight of stairs.
The popular broadcaster was racing between meetings when she tripped on her high heels and crashed face-first onto the ground.
She was taken to a hospital in London to undergo an operation to fix her broken nose and treat cuts to her forehead and eyelid.
Vorderman has now been forced to take two weeks off from her hosting duties on U.K. panel show Loose Women while she recovers.
The 52 year old tells Britain's The Sun, "I have stitches in my forehead and my left eyelid but am just counting my blessings that I didn't damage my skull or the left eye itself. I feel like a complete idiot and have had to cancel work for a few weeks so there'll be no more Loose Women for me for a while.
"I have a plaster cast on my nose for a week and hope that the swelling starts to go down."
