Carlos Santana Has Completed Work On His Long-awaited Sequel To His 1971 Album Santana Iii After Reuniting His Classic Band Line-up In The Studio.
The Latino rock superstar was joined by Gregg Rolie, Journey's Neal Schon, Michael Carabello and Michael Shrieve for new album, which is scheduled for release in April (16).
"We didn't have to try to force the vibe," Santana told Vintage Vinyl News. "It was immense. From there, we then needed to come up with a balance of songs and jams that people would immediately identify as Santana.
"When you can go back and break new ground with joy and determination and some whoop-a** energy, it gets you going. I think we achieved something very rare. This music was screaming to come out of us. It wasn't about nostalgia. It was about passion."
Santana IV also features The Isley Brothers singer Ronald Isley on two tracks.
