Carlos Santana, the legendary Mexican-American rock guitarist, married his drummer girlfriend CINDY BLACKMAN on 19th December 2010, reports People Magazine. The couple tied the knot during an intimate ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton on the island of Maui, however, the wedding had to be moved indoors after an unexpected downpour of rain.
Speaking about the special day, 63-year-old Santana said, "The weather was kind of iffy, so we said, 'Let's just do it inside,'. Because no matter where we did it, the sun was shining". 51-year-old Blackman, a jazz and rock drummer best known for her work with Lenny Kravitz added, "Rain represents mercy. It couldn't have been more beautiful. My favourite part of the ceremony was when we washed our hands in a bowl of rainwater. We absolved ourselves of all things past and all things future except the two of us. It felt so clearing to do that". Santana divorced from his former wife Deborah back in 2007 after 34 years of marriage, citing 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for the split.
The wedding of Santana and Blackman was attended by around 180 guests including the comedian George Lopez, and musicians Herbie Hancock and WAYNE SHORTER who both performed at the reception.
