Carl Barat has disappointed fans who were hoping The Libertines' reunion would be permanent - the British rocker will go solo after the band's comeback gigs this summer (10).
The group, fronted by Barat and Pete Doherty, reformed in March (10) and will play headline slots at Britain's Reading and Leeds music festivals in August (10).
Fans had hoped the gigs would lead to a full-time reunion, but Barat has now confirmed plans to release a solo album in October (10).
The currently untitled record will be followed by a U.K. tour, according to Britain's BBC 6 Music.
