Creative director Karl told WWD of the film - which will be unveiled in full on Chanel.com on December 1: ''There's a touch of Pop Art in it.

''It's not meant to be a historical reconstruction or something heavy like that. This is light and funny.''

Pharrell, 41 - who, according to Karl, sparked the idea for the movie after expressing his desire to work with Cara -

also penned the soundtrack 'CC the World' for the film, which features the stunning model's vocals.

Karl said of the Grammy Award-winning artist: ''He was easy to work with, very pleasant. He's very professional.''

He added of Cara's blossoming music career: ''(Cara) wanted to sing for a long time.

''For her to start singing with Pharrell is not that bad, no?''

Cara was thrilled to be asked to star in the film and admitted that she screamed when she received a call from Pharrell, telling her he had written the duet for them.

She said: ''I was so happy, I think I screamed down the phone at him.''

The film tells the story of the brand's founder Gabrielle Chanel, who became inspired by a lift operator's jacket while holidaying in an Austrian resort in 1954..

It has been produced to celebrate the French brand's Métiers d'Art show in Salzburg.
