SEX AND THE CITY scribe Candace Bushnell is all for ladies having younger lovers - because younger men understand independent women.
The 44-year-old New York writer and socialite is married to ballet dancer CHARLES ASKEGARD, ten years her junior.
She grins, "Younger men are great. In the past 10 years, all these great single women have become very independent as they hit 40 - and find they have younger men after them. I have girlfriends who are beating 25-year-old guys off with a stick.
"Younger men are much less likely to have rigid ideas about how women should behave. They've grown up with feminism, maybe being raised by single mothers.
"To be honest, I think Charles is one of the few men who could handle me."09/09/2003 02:33
