Camille Grammer and ex-husband Kelsey Grammer have traded barbs in the press since their marriage breakdown in 2010, but the Frasier star has taken the feud further, claiming he sought to make her a reality television star as a "parting gift" following their separation.
The marriage disintegrated in front of the camera while Camille appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but Kelsey claims her appearance was all his doing. Speaking on Australian morning show Sunrise, the actor claimed, "In my mind [The Real Housewives] was my parting gift to her.It was a very difficult marriage and a very difficult decade. I thought, So long, here's a present for you". Kelsey, who is promoting his new show 'Boss', began a romance with British flight attendant Kayte Walsh after meeting her while flying to New York to perform in Broadway show La Cage Aux Folles. Speaking to the New York Post after the separation, Camille claimed Kelsey got her the Real Housewives gig to enable him to continue his affair, saying, "Looking back, maybe he wanted to keep me preoccupied in California while he was off having his affair in New York.I think it was more Kelsey's agenda. I was very reluctant, because I am a very private person".
Kelsey married Kayte Walsh in New York on 25th February 2011. The couple held their reception at the Plaza Hotel, at a reported cost of $100,000.
