Burt Bacharach has been hit with a lawsuit from a dog sitter who claims the veteran composer's pet savaged two of his fingers.
Joel Gayner, 73, claims he volunteered to take care of the 88-year-old's Portuguese Water Dog Alfie and on one occasion, after he had helped clear Alfie's airway when he choked on a plastic bone, the canine allegedly attacked him.
Gayner claims minutes after Alfie recovered from the choking incident, he snapped and attacked his left hand, according to TMZ.com. He said he needed his middle finger to be surgically reattached following the attack and he had so many missing chunks in his index finger he needed a skin graft.
The dog sitter alleged he has lost feeling in multiple areas in his fingers, and is suing the What the World Needs Now Is Love composer for medical expenses and unspecified damages.
