Dancehall reggae star CAPLETON has been forced to cancel three performances amid fears that gay rights activists were planning to stage massive protests over the singer's homosexual lyrics.

Gigs in New Orleans, Louisiana, Sunset Strip, West Hollywood, and San Francisco, California, have been scrapped after campaigners vowed to protest over songs like BUN OUT DI CHI CH - which translates to 'Burn Out the Gay Man'.

Capleton tells Californian newspaper, the SANTA CRUZ SENTINEL that homosexuality is "against humanity. It's against your mother, it's against your father, it's against yourself".

The TOUR hitmaker is the latest reggae artist to draw strong protest for homophobic lyrics. In recent months, gay advocacy groups have successfully staged boycotts against Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man and BEENIE MAN.
