Cuban band Buena Vista Social Club were forced to cancel a concert in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday (24Jun10) after failing to secure U.S. work visas in time.
The group was due to play a show in Prospect Park but struggled to obtain their immigration documents in time to arrange a flight, according to their attorney Bill Martinez.
But the lawyer insists the delay was down to "a timing issue" and had nothing to do with problems with U.S. border authorities.
The band blamed their late applications on their hectic work schedule, which only recently saw them return from their European tour, reports Reuters.
However, Buena Vista Social Club are planning to go ahead with their two scheduled shows this weekend - they will play in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday (26Jun10) and at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Sunday (27Jun10).
