This Wednesday (May 16, 2012) sees the start of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Amongst the movie stars jostling for attention in the coveted Palme D'Or prize category, are Hollywood heavyweights Bruce Willis and Edward Norton, along with Kristen Stewart and Jessica Chastain.

Willis and Norton both star in Wes Anderson's highly anticipated movie Moonrise Kingdom, a film about "adolescent love on the run" (CBS). Kristen Stewart meanwhile, takes a leading role in Walter Salles' adaptation of Jack Kerouac's famous beat novel 'On The Road.' She stars alongside Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst and Viggo Mortensen, with the British actor Sam Riley hoping to prove that he can live up to the promise he showed in the Ian Curtis biopic 'Control.' Jessica Chastain will star in 'Lawless,' which was written by the musician Nick Cave and also features Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Shia LaBeouf.

Kristen Stewart's Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson makes an appearance in David Cronenberg's 'COSMOPOLIS,' which is fast becoming a talking point in the run-up to the festival. It's certainly a more 'off-the-wall' movie choice than the teen blockbuster fodder for which he is best known. "Hopefully, people don't hate it," says Pattinson of his latest career choice.
