DIE HARD star Bruce Willis is amazed he launched a successful acting career, because he had a terrible stammer as a child.
The German-born actor, 49, says that while his speech impediment often got the better of him, he worked hard at combatting it.
He tells MAXIM magazine, "I was one of the fortunate people who grew out of it. Everybody has some kind of vocal flaw. It's what makes us unique.
"I was lucky enough in college to work with a speech therapist for a very brief amount of time, and he gave me some exercises to work on.
"The key to it was the fact that when I got onstage and when I was an actor, I didn't stutter. That was a miracle in itself."
