Bruce Springsteen paid tribute to late folk legend Woody Guthrie in his centennial year during a show at the South by Southwest (Sxsw) festival in Texas on Thursday night (15Mar12).
The Boss took to the stage at The Moody Theater in Austin to play an intimate gig for competition winners, and as well as belting out his hits, he played Guthrie's track I Aint Got No Home.
Springsteen said, "Happy birthday Woody" in reference to the 100th anniversary of the musician's birth, which is being celebrated with a number of shows and events across the U.S. this year (12).
Later in the gig, the rocker welcomed a number of special guests to the stage, including Canadian band Arcade Fire and Rage Against The MAChine's Tom Morello to play Guthrie's most well-known song, This Land Is Your Land.
The Boss also played with We Gotta Get Out of This Place with The Animals star Eric Burdon after previously paying homage to the singer/songwriter in his Sxsw lecture earlier in the day.
