Britney Spears' plans to extend her CIRCUS tour to Australia and Europe have been thrown into jeopardy by the global economic crisis.
The singer, who remains under the conservatorship of her father Jamie, went to court earlier this month (Apr09) to seek permission to take her shows beyond North America, Canada and Britain.
Spears' lawyers were back in court in Los Angeles for a hearing on Tuesday (14Apr09).
But the judge overseeing the case refused to make a ruling - insisting the decision rests on whether the flagging U.S. economy picks up over the next few months.
L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz says, "It hasn't yet been determined whether it's feasible to expand tours to the Europe or Australia legs. That will be determined in the future after everyone's seen the analysis, in terms of the economy and value of the dollar."
Spears is currently touring North America and will head to London in June (09).
