Britney Spears' comeback single went straight into the top ten of the U.K. charts on Sunday (21Oct07) - but failed to make the top spot. Dance track Gimme More came in at number three, trailing behind British girl band Sugababes and super producer Mark Ronson. Spears' single is the first to be released from her fifth album - the first new music from the pop star since 2003. The news follows a rocky time for the troubled 25-year-old, who has been ordered by a judge to get coaching on parenting skills, seek counselling and undergo random drug testing if she wants to regain custody of her boys, Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, with ex-husband Kevin Federline. The singer's recent performance of Gimme More at MTV's Video Music Awards in Las Vegas was widely criticised as lacklustre and under-rehearsed.
