Britney Spears is thrilled to be working with Madonna again and is convinced she's "earned" the opportunity to do so, according to a close pal of the troubled star.
The Toxic singer will be filming a short promo for Madonna's upcoming Sticky + Sweet world tour, and Spears couldn't be happier to be back at work with her idol.
A friend of the star tells People.com, "Britney is excited, but in a grown up way. She has come a long way in the last year. She has settled down and is full of life but not childish.
"Working with Madonna is a dream, but I think she feels like it's one she's earned. She's respectful but full of her own ideas about the work."
And the insider is adamant Spears is back to her best mentally and professionally: "I think that so many people have no idea that Britney is fully aware of what's going on. She may not always have been, but she is now. And she is - if not in control - in partnership with her father and her managers in her future."
The singer's dad Jamie Spears was appointed conservator of his daughter's private affairs on 1 February (08) after Britney was admitted to hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Jamie has since reportedly quit his job as a caterer to tend to his daughter's financial and personal matters - a role he shares with court-appointed observer Andrew Wallet.
