Britney Spears' mother has hit out at the "ruthless" paparazzi that pursue her famous daughter.

Speaking in her column on Britney's website, LYNNE SPEARS admits she was inspired to voice her concerns by an article in newspaper USA TODAY titled "Stalking Britney: A Paparazzo's Story".

And she's desperate for intrusive snappers to quit following Spears, because their presence greatly hinders the limited time she gets to spend with her offspring.

She says, "I felt it truly captured and highlighted how dangerous, horrifying and intrusive the paparazzi can be on a day to day basis.

"I don't know, it's just that JAMIE LYNN (Spears' sister) and I are very selfish about sharing the time we do get to spend with Britney and it would be nice if there weren't always 10 to 15 cars of paparazzi ruthlessly trying to capture every moment as well."
