Britney Spears has finally visited the Boston hotel room dedicated to her - two months after letting fans down by missing its opening.
The pop princess - who married fiance Kevin Federline in a secret ceremony at the weekend (19SEP04) - sent her mother LYNNE to meet fans and cut the ribbon at the Britney Spears Foundation Room at the city's ONYX HOTEL in July (04), blaming her knee injury for her absence.
Fans who had won the chance to meet the singer in competitions were left disappointed - particularly after the singer was reportedly spotted out and about with Federline the same day.
But Lynne reveals Britney made a special trip to see the suite - which includes memorabilia and is modelled on the singer's childhood bedroom - shortly before tying the knot.
In a posting on BRITNEYSPEARS.COM, dated 16 September, Lynne writes, "This morning Britney flew to Boston so she could finally see her Foundation Room at the Onyx Hotel and sign the wall. She called to tell me how much she loved the room and how she spent about 10 minutes looking at all of the collectibles in the Curio cabinet. It made me so happy to hear how much she enjoyed how the room turned out."21/09/2004 17:19
