Britney Spears has turned herself into Police to be booked on charges of hit-and-run driving without a valid California driving licence.
The troubled pop star who recently lost custody of her children Sean Preston and Jayden James to ex-husband Kevin Federline reported to a local Los Angeles police station yesterday, confirmed officer Mike Lopez.
The charges relate to an incident on August 6th in a parking lot, in which paparazzi filmed Spears struggling to turn into a space in a Studio City car park, and steering her vehicle into a parked car.
She is then seen checking out the damage to her own car before walking away.
The 25-year-old who was ordered by Los Angeles judge Scott Gordon to undergo regular drug treatment and parenting classes was involved in another incident this weekend, after reversing into the car of a paparazzo.
Not wanting to face yet more legal ramifications, the Baby One More Time star tracked down the photographer in question, claiming "I'm stupid, I'm sorry... I'm a horrible driver", according to the World Entertainment News Network (Wenn).
Spears has somehow managed to keep a sense of humour as she struggles to resurrect her career, reportedly asking the photographer: "Are you going to sue me or something?"
Luckily for her and her legal team he promised not to press charges.
