Britney Spears probably has her team sorting out guest spots on TV shows for, you'd have thought; however this doesn't seem to be the case as the world famous pop star took matters into her own hands and headed to microblogging site Twitter to request for an appearance on the hit American series 'Modern Family.'

Reuters reports that Spears, whose Twitter followers number almost 13 million, was full of effusive praise for the ABC-aired show, tweeting "I know everybody is excited about the Super Bowl, but I personally can't wait to see the next episode of Modern Family! Funniest show on TV." It was a tweet re-tweeted by, among hundreds of others, one of the program's eminent stars Sofia Vergara - recent winner of US site's AskMen's Most Desirable Woman poll - whilst co-star Julie Bowen wrote back saying "holy half shirt! Thanks, Britney!" Clearly cottoning on to Spears' intentions quickly, her fans hastily rallied to get a #GetBritneyOnModernFamily hashtag trending, with the 30 year-old noticing it and commenting "Ahhhh I would love to be on it!"

You'd sense there's a strong chance of that happening, Spears has a full list of cameo credits to her name, with guest starring appearances on 'Will & Grace' and 'How I Met Your Mother' to name but two. A previous Twitter campaign launched by her manager ADAM LEBER in 2010, meanwhile, led to her appearing on hit musical comedy 'Glee' that September.
