Britney Spears isn't a name most ministers would feel confident around when it came to presiding over wedding ceremonies - the 30 year-old pop star is seemingly back on the straight and narrow in 2011 thankfully, with a platinum-selling US number one album 'Femme Fatale' and a successful world tour to promote it seeing the star focusing on what she does best. It's not always been that way however, with a 55 hour marriage to school friend Jason Alexander back in 2004 and another failed - though longer - one to Kevin Federline coming at the height of the star's mental problems which saw her commit herself to rehabilitation several times in 2007 and 2008.

If Spears is back to her best though, as it appears she is, then the latest news that she's got engaged to current boyfriend Jason Trawick is welcome indeed - not least because the agent has gone about it the old fashioned way and asked the star's father JAMIE SPEARS for permission first. Entertainment site TMZ reports that, with Spears still under a conservatorship order after her previously documented issues, judges will need to approve the proposal - if they've done so though then Trawick will be popping the question to the performer tonight in Las Vegas.

Trawick and Spears initially came out about dating each other back in May 2010 whilst he was still working as her agent - the revelation caused them to end their professional relationship so that they could continue their personal one, a move that seems to have paid off.
