Britney Spears is in talks to write her first novel.

The 'Toxic' hitmaker's spokeswoman has confirmed HarperCollins' imprint It Books are negotiating the terms of a deal with the singer, who is expected to write a fictional novel loosely based on her own experiences during her journey to stardom.

The company is already home to musical memoirs by musicians including Slash and Motley Crue, and the The Hollywood Reporter is claiming Britney's offering will be similar to American reality star Lauren Conrad's 2009 New York Times bestseller 'L.A. Candy'.

Britney, 30, isn't the only celebrity to make headlines with a possible book deal.

The Kardashian family and Jersey Shore's Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi have also been tapped to release books about their lives.

It is not yet known when Britney's book is being released, however, with her rumoured $15 million salary to judge the US 'X Factor', it is thought the advance will be substantial.

The news comes shortly after her former manager SAM LUTFI's lawsuit against the pop star for owing him unpaid fees was dropped.
