Britney Spears is reportedly in contact with her ex-boyfriend from six years ago.

The 'Piece of Me' hitmaker only split from her beau David Lucado last week after it emerged he'd allegedly cheated on her and now the blonde beauty is rumoured to be texting her former flame Adnan Ghalib, 42.

However, a source told RadarOnline: ''They [Britney and Adnan] never really stopped talking.''

Following their split in 2008 - around the time Britney had a breakdown - Adnan was banned from having any contact with the 32-year-old singer for three years.

However, despite Britney's father Jamie - who has controlled the star's personal and professional affairs for six years - monitoring her mobile phone, it is believed the pair have been talking ''on the sly.''

The source explained: ''Jamie monitors Britney's cell phone, but she found a way to secretly text Adnan.''

Meanwhile, Jamie has also banned David from contacting his daughter after video footage emerged of him allegedly canoodling with an unidentified woman.

A source said previously: ''David won't be getting through because he's persona non grata at her show in Las Vegas, at her home in Thousand Oaks, California and his phone number's been blocked.''

Britney announced on Twitter last Thursday that she'd dumped her beau after 18 months of dating, but friends claim David wasn't told about the split directly from Britney and he is keen to speak to her about it.

The stunning star - who has two sons Sean Preston, eight, and Jayden James, seven, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline - is now throwing herself into her Las Vegas residency concerts in an attempt to distract herself from the heartbreaking split.
