Although Britney Spears may be struggling to stay on top of the music charts, the pop beauty has managed to retain her dominance of the internet as one of the most searched-for stars.

The ME AGAINST THE MUSIC singer was one of the most sought after people on the web in 2003, according to major internet search sites GOOGLE.COM, YAHOO, LYCOS and AMERICA ONLINE.

On AOL, she was the most searched for woman, just edging out hotel heiress Paris Hilton, who was at the centre of much controversy when a video of her having sex with ex-boyfriend Rick Solomon hit the web.

Users of Lycos propelled Hilton into fourth place, behind music-swapping site KAZAA, Spears and the game DRAGONBALL Z.
