Britney Spears is poised for a new career direction - she'll be rapping on her next album.
The BABY, ONE MORE TIME singer says after conquering the pop world she's ready for an image makeover - although she's unsure how well it will go down with her fans.
She says, "I really don't think that many people from my core audience will get it. Anyone can sit down and write boring artistic songs. Pop music is the hardest stuff to write."
The pop singer says she is including a rap song on the as-yet-untitled fourth album, due out this autumn. "The subjects are really out there," she says.
"It's about general things that teenagers go through that are real but nobody talks about."
And the 21-year-old says she's not bothered if the album receives a mixed reaction - as long as it has an effect on people.
She adds, "I would rather somebody either really love it or really hate it. I don't want anything in between."16/05/2003 17:04
