Pop beauty Britney Spears has fallen foul of PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS (PETA) campaigners again.

The EVERYTIME singer appears on the cover of her forthcoming GREATEST HITS album wearing a fur jacket, much to the chagrin of PETA, who criticised Spears after she appeared on stage with a caged tiger and a snake at the 2001 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS.

Spears later apologised for the tiger incident and posed for an anti-fur trade poster.

The 22-year-old's spokesperson told the NEW YORK POST of the latest incident, "From what I am told, it's a fake fur."
