Britney Spears' parenting skills have been questioned again by a source close to the court-appointed parenting coach the star is working with.
Us magazine cites the unnamed source as saying that Spears' parenting coach had filed a "very damning report" that could harm the singer in her ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline..
The Baby One More Time star has been ordered to attend parenting classes and to undergo regular drug tests in order to keep custody of her children.
Scott Gordon, the judge presiding in the case, previously called Spears a "habitual, frequent and continuous" user of controlled substances and alcohol and laid down numerous conditions the pop princess has to meet to regain 50-50 custody of her sons.
According to the insider, documents filed by the parenting adviser say the 25-year-old was distracted and argumentative during sessions.
"Britney's often distracted and in her own world when she has the kids and has a hard time focusing. She is adamant that she doesn't have to listen to anybody that it's her way or the highway," the source said.
The insider tells the magazine that the guidance sessions were initially held at the troubled singer's residence, adding that the parenting coach had now asked for meetings to take place in offices in order to prevent the star from being preoccupied by the paparazzi around her home.
The magazine was also told that Spears was not cooperating with her parenting coach and paying her "no attention or respect at all".
Another hearing into the custody case is scheduled to occur on October 26th.
Spears, who is also involved in court proceedings over a parking incident, is apparently close to agreeing a financial settlement with the owner of the car she hit, which could result in some of the counts against her being dropped.
The star was fingerprinted and booked at a Los Angeles Police station a few days ago over the incident, which saw her leave a parking lot after an accident with Kim Robard-Rifkin's stationary car.
She faces two misdemeanour charges of hit-and-run causing property damage and driving without a valid licence. Spears' attorney says he expects the hit-and-run offence to be dropped when the owner of the car receives compensation.
