Britney Spears has "successfully completed" her one-month stint in rehab, her manager has confirmed.

The 25-year-old singer entered the Promises rehabilitation centre in Malibu last month after concerns were raised about her health in the wake of her split from husband Kevin Federline.

It was the third time that Spears checked into the centre; her previous two attempts the week before resulted in stays of just 24 hours.

But it was a case of third time lucky for Spears, whose manager Larry Rudolph said that she had finished her treatment "successfully".

"We ask that the media respects her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time," he added.

Before rehab Spears engaged in a number of worrying activities in the public eye, including shaving her head, hitting a car with an umbrella and swapping clothes with strippers. A number of media reports also claimed that she had collapsed in a club on New Year's Eve.

The Promises rehab centre that she was treated in claims to offer "one of the most effective alcohol detox and addiction rehab services anywhere in the world".

While there, Spears would have been able to kick back and enjoy the "gorgeous panoramic view" of the Pacific ocean and "uncommon luxuries such as individual massages".

A planned court hearing with rapper Federline, which was speculated to be about the care of their two children, was cancelled at the end of February after she checked into rehab.

The couple currently have joint custody of five-month-old Jayden James and Sean Preston, aged 17 months.
