The BRITS AWARDS have snubbed Britney Spears and Madonna by leaving them off their Best International Female short-list.

The pair, who collaborated on Britney's recent comeback single ME AGAINST The Music, have lost out to Christina Aguilera, Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Beyonce Knowles and Missy Elliott, in a provisional shortlist named by British newspaper THE SUN.

The paper names original Pop Idol winner Will Young as odds-on to win the Best Male category at the awards in London next month (17FEB04), whilst Dido is favourite to pick up the Best Female gong.

A source says, "Will Young has got to be favourite for Best Male and Dido looks a dead cert for Best Female. The committee is stressing the list can be changed right up to the last minute on Sunday (11JAN04) evening as final votes are counted.

"But it seems pretty certain that these will be the names that figure."
