Before DANCING WITH THE STARS All-Stars has even kicked off there's controversy surrounding one of the celebrity dancers, after Bristol Palin traded blows with reporters at Friday's Television Critics Association press meeting. However her fellow dancer, Derek Hough, has stood by what she said, agreeing that she can only benefit by coming back to DWTS.
Bristol stood mostly in the firing line of questions at the press conference last week, with a number of reporters wanting to bring up the reasons why she has agreed to do yet another reality show. Becoming increasingly more defensive with each passing comment, she brought questions to a close when she said that no matter where she was, Alaska or Hollywood, there would be reporters following her and eventually quipping: "do I like to provide for my son? Yes, I do."
Hough was quick to stick up for his DWTS familiar, applauding her for still sticking with work within the public eye, rather than just going on to "hibernate and just to disappear."
Talking to E!, he also spoke highly of how the daughter of former Vice-President candidate Sarah Palin manages herself despite being at the forefront of much media speculation.
Bristol, as well as 12 other former DWTS contestants, including Drew Lachey, Melissa Rycroft and Pamela Anderson, are set to put on their dancing shoes once more when DWTS: All Stars returns later in the summer.
