Bristol Palin survived yet another elimination on Dancing With The Stars last night (9th November 2010), despite being bottom of the leader-board after the judges' scores. The daughter of Republican politician Sarah Palin, Bristol was heavily tipped to leave the dance competition this week, but it was former professional football player KURT WARNER who was given the boot.
However, CONRAD GREEN, executive producer of the show says that Palin may be surviving on political votes, speaking on Bloomberg he said, "There's a strong popular movement behind Sarah Palin at the moment and she's receiving a lot of support from the Tea Party. It's entirely possible some of those people are behind Bristol for political reasons". During Monday's show, the 20-year-old wore a 'Tea Party' t-shirt while rehearsing her routine.
A surprise stipulation this week meant contestants had to perform an 'instant dance', and had only 20 minutes to prepare a routine. Despite finishing bottom of the leader-board, Palin and partner Mark Ballas clawed their way through to next week's semi-final, which will see them compete against Jennifer Grey, Brandy, and Kyle Massey for the DWTS title.
