Bristol Palin, the controversial finalist of Dancing With The Stars season eleven, has received death threats in the run-up to the series finale, reports the UK's Daily Telegraph. Palin, the daughter of Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has continuously avoided elimination from the show at the expense of other contestants widely regarded as better dancers.
However, her inclusion in the final has incensed some viewers, and the 20-year-old has had her life threatened by some members of the public, as has professional dance partner Mark Ballas. Security has been heightened ahead of tonight's show, and producers are currently debating as to whether Palin should appear in New York's Times Square after the final, as is tradition on the show. 24-year-old Ballas has been advised to stop posting on his social networking pages, as his comments are said to be inflaming people. One member of the show's crew said "Security is on absolute lockdown. Bristol is surrounded by security guards everywhere she goes".
Last week, a threatening letter with white power was received at the ABC offices intended for Palin, and recently a man in Wisconsin became so angry at Palin's dancing that he blasted through his television set with a shotgun.
