Bristol Palin's Paso-Doble routine on Monday night's episode of Dancing With The Stars (15th November 2010) enraged a man from Wisconsin so much, that he blasted his television set with a shotgun, and then pointed the weapon at his wife, reports the UK's Daily Mail.
67-year-old Steve Cowan told authorities that he felt Bristol was a bad dancer and was only invited to take part in the show because of her famous mother, Sarah Palin. After the 20-year-old had performed her routine with partner Mark Ballas, which was praised by the judges, Cowan arose from his chair, swore at the television, and fired his shotgun. He then pointed the gun at his wife, who managed to escape unharmed. The police SWAT team then surrounded the house and negotiators were able to lure Mr Cowan from his home after a 15-hour stand-off.
The man has been charged with 2nd degree reckless endangerment and could face up to 10 years in prison, however, authorities claim that Mr Cowan suffers from bipolar disorder and has recently been under the stress of his financial situation. On Tuesday (16th November 2010) Palin made it through to next week's final at the expense of singer Brandy.
