Singer DIDO slams the theory fans will only appreciate her music if they sympathise with thirtysomething movie character Bridget Jones.
The British artist objects to journalists comparing her to the career-driven, unlucky-in-love character made famous by Renee Zellweger in the 2001 hit film, insisting her followers range in age and sex.
The singer says, "That's just bulls***. It doesn't mean anything, it's just a journalistic tag line.
"There aren't enough thirtysomething women in the country for that statement to make sense. My fans are both sexes and all ages. And anyway, I couldn't get through the book myself"23/01/2004 19:39
