Veteran British actor Brian Blessed has vowed to become a "servant" for students if he wins a vote to become the chancellor at the U.K.'s prestigious Cambridge University.
The 75 year old entered the running for the top job after a campaign on social networking site, but Blessed is prepared to take his duties seriously if he succeeds.
He tells Britain's Daily Telegraph, "If I was chancellor I will be a servant. I will join in with all the students' arts programmes and theatre, painting and devour their library.
"I want to rejoice with them, lead them and inspire them, I want to be their champion. I used to dream of going to Cambridge."
The result is expected to be announced on Sunday (16Oct11).
