Former SUEDE singer Brett Anderson has hit out at British politicians who promise to limit immigration if they gain power in the next UK general election.
Anderson, who has formed new band The Tears with his ex-Suede compatriot BERNARD BUTLER, is upset by what he views to be a misrepresentation of refugees in the run-up to the forthcoming British election, likely to take place later this year (05).
He says, "There's a lot of scare-mongering right-wing politicians that will tell you that your country is being destabilised by refugees, just to win a few votes in middle England.
"It's a load of old b**locks, immigration is essential to living in a healthy, diverse, multi-cultural, 21st century society and Britain wouldn't have anything like the depth of cultural wealth it has without immigration."24/02/2005 21:37
