Rocker BRET MICHAELS is staging a concert and auction to raise money for his charity Life Rocks Foundation.
The Poison frontman is holding the first Annual Bret Michaels Life Rocks Foundation Concert & Charity Auction which will take place at The Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona next month (01Dec12).
Auction prizes include items from NBC's Celebrity Apprentice, in which Michaels starred in 2010, and lunch with the rocker.
His charity supports research into diabetes and childhood cancer, and also backs military veterans' organisations and pet charities.
Michaels has taken to his Twitter.com page ahead of the auction to highlight the case of a young diabetic named 'Rachel', telling his fans, "She is currently fighting for her life due to complications from diabetes. Dialysis is failing and she is in need of a kidney transplant to save her life.
"When I spoke to Rachel a few days ago, I knew she was a fighter. Her mother told me that she is a fighter like me. Rachel is just one of the reasons that I fight so hard to find a cure with my Life Rocks Foundation Concert & Charity Auction event."
