BRET MICHAELS fiancee KRISTI GIBSON and his two daughters 'Raine Elizabeth' and 'Jorja Bleu Sychak' are waiting on news of the rocker's heart surgery after the former Poison frontman was scheduled to be treated for a hole in the heart today (24th January 2011) The 47-year-old checked into the St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center over the weekend, the same location where he underwent surgery for a brain haemorrhage in April 2010.
Despite today's surgery, the singer attended the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car auction on Saturday (22nd January 2011) where he sold his classic 1969 Camaro for $220,000 and donated a portion of the proceeds to charity 'The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation'. His representative told that the rocker was feeling hopeful of finally fixing his heart problem, saying, "Bret is looking forward to feeling 100 per cent again". The musician, who proposed to his long-time girlfriend Gibson over the Christmas period, recently told the Arizona Republic that he felt confident of a full recovery, saying, "Barring any complications, I should be out within three to four days".
In recent years, Michaels has become recognised for his charity and humanitarian work. In 2010, he earned $640,000 during his winning appearance on 'Celebrity Apprentice 3' and donated the full amount to the 'American Diabetes Association'.
