Kubo And The Two Strings Trailer

Kubo is a young boy who lives with his mother. Kubo has always been influences by his vivid imagination and he's able to use magic spells to bring his stories to life to entertain the local towns folk. One night the winds change and Kubo finds himself being haunted by surrounding and characters that he's seen before - monsters, witches and devil like creatures from his stories.

With little other option, Kubo's mother casts a spell on Kubo and sends him on a mission to find his father's armour. She doesn't leave her son alone though, she also brings a protector to life whose sole purpose is to protect the little boy. The only thing is Kubo's protector doesn't look human, she's a monkey who won't take any nonsense from the young boy.

As they journey together, Kubo and Monkey meet another companion called Beetle. Monkey is reluctant to take in the new cohort but the boy is taken in by Beetles tales and knowledge of his father. Armed with his magical shamisen (a musical instrument) Kubo must battle demons and ancient gods to resolve the mystery of his father's life and death.

Supergirl Review

Terrible
So let me see if I get this straight: Dopey Kara (Helen Slater) is sitting around on a fragment of the former planet Krypton when she stupidly tears a hole in the protective bubble that keeps the city safe from the external world. Whoops, the city's power source -- a little ball that fits in your hand which Kara is playing with (!!!) -- gets sucked out the hole, dooming the city and all its residents to certain death. Then, as her dad (Peter O'Toole!) sentences himself to eternity in the Phantom Zone (where Zod and his crew were sent), Kara mopes around and sits on a chair... which turns out to be an escape pod straight to earth! Zoom, she's safe, and, after zipping up out of the lake she lands in, she's Supergirl (complete with costume).

This is Superman's cousin?

Capricorn One Review

Good
Hal Holbrook steals the show as a semi-deranged NASA exec who fakes a Mars landing in order to save the space program and his job... even if that means offing O.J. Simpson! Cute for a while, Capricorn One wears thin in its second hour, degenerating into a by-the-books chase movie with the feds after the rogue astronauts and Elliot Gould's reporter after the feds. Telly Savalas's cameo is a scream.

Midnight Cowboy Review

Extraordinary
Joe Buck (Jon Voight), in what may be the boldest and most naive move in movie history, heads from west Texas to New York City via bus, to strike it rich as a male prostitute. He encounters a diminutive con man named Ratso (Dustin Hoffman), who takes him under his wing as his "manager." Sadly, it soon becomes apparent that neither of these characters can take care of themselves, much less one another. Depressing and nearly hopeless, this classic and infamous film (originally X-rated in 1969, it still won Best Picture), Midnight Cowboy has analogues in countless films from later years, all the way through American Beauty. Highly recommended.
