The singer's new solo release The Desired Effect narrowly beat out Paul Weller's Saturns Pattern to the top of the Official UK Albums Chart by just 5,000 copies.

Weller's latest hit gives the mod icon his 16th top 10 album.

Last week's number one, Wilder Mind by Mumford & Sons, slips to three, while Taylor Swift's 1989 and Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour round out the new top five.

Meanwhile, Omi's Cheerleader has topped the U.K. Official Singles Chart for a fourth week, beating out Wiz Khalifa's See You Again, which is on the rise again after previously topping the countdown.

LunchMoney Lewis' Bills rounds out the new top three.
